FATLOSS VS FITNESS

vitalityfitt DEV

Did you know that there is actually a difference between training for ‘fitness’ vs ‘fatloss’.

For example there are lots of people who can run 5-10km but still have the same body fat % as when they started training. Often their body fat % increases too.

Research indicates that a persons body fat level throughout their lifespan is influenced more so by the amount of MUSCLE MASS they possess rather than their level of ‘physical fitness’.

Did you know the average adult loses 7kgs of muscle over a lifespan and replace it with 15kgs of fat.

If you want to lose body fat and change your body shape, a program focused on running around and ‘getting fit’ is not the right solution.

Instead a structured progressive overload weight training program is imperative & the utilisation of ‘short 20-30mins’ cardio sessions is a must.

A lot of people say they love their cardio classes and running. And that’s cool, but if you want long term results in regards to your body composition, you need to do a little of what you love and a lot of what you have to do.
